Karen Hasse

Karen Hasse, age 82 of Northfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday afternoon, August 31, 2024, at the Northfield Hospital.
Karen Arlene (Mayer) Hasse was born August 23, 1942, in St. Charles, Minnesota, to John E. and Betty V. (Amos) Mayer. She was raised on the family farm, attended country school and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1960. Following her education she moved to Denver, Colorado, for a few years, later returning to Plainview.
On June 25, 1966, Karen married Gerald G. Hasse at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. After marriage they made their home in Plainview until 1972 when they moved to Northfield where Karen stayed at home with the boys. Gerald passed away on February 24, 2021.
Karen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former active member of the Northfield Jaycees. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, riding horse and dancing with Gerald. She was independent, strong willed and loved by so many....... Karen dearly and deeply loved her children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sons Jeff (Karna) and Jerrett “Jay” (Teresa); her grandchildren Jackson, Avery, McKenzie, Colten, Kennedy and Bohde; her sisters-in-law Gwen, Kay and Linda Mayer; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers Clayton, Robert and Everett Mayer and her parents.
A visitation was held 4:00PM - 7:00PM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in Little Valley Cemetery, rural Plainview. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren McKenzie, Colten, Kennedy, Jackson, Bohde and Avery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude’s Hospital, Breast Cancer Awareness or the donor’s choice.
