Leonard Brumm

Leonard R. Brumm, 92, of Rochester, formally of Lake City, Minnesota, died Monday, July 4, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus.
Lenny was born May 8, 1924, in Rochester, Minnesota to Max and Ethel Brumm. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1942 where he was the Drum Major and played baseball and football in grades 11 and 12. Lenny served in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII as Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific Theatre and China. He returned to Rochester where he met Constance I. Dee, and the two were married in 1947. The couple had one son, Kit Brumm. After 33 years of marriage, Constance died June 18, 1980, of cancer. For most of his working years, Lenny worked in the tool business and saw filing. Lenny met Fran Cochran in 1991 and made their home in Lake City, Minnesota and wintered in Spring Hill, Florida.
Lenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, the houseboat on the Mississippi and playing fast pitch softball with the Eagles Club and North Star Bar. He was an active Eagles member, serving 25 years as Trustee. Lenny also belonged to the American Legion in Wabasha and the VFW in Lake City.
He is survived by his son, Kit (Nancy) Brumm of Rochester, MN; granddaughter, Jen Mann of Rochester, MN; grandson, Troy Daggett of Rochester, MN and long time companion, Fran Cochran of Virginia and her children, Dave (Mary) Cochran and Denise (Tim) Cochran Dickson and grandchildren, Chelsey Cochran and Alex (Alyssa) Cochran. Lenny is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Constance; brothers, Frank, George and Warren Brumm and sisters, Maxine Weilberg and Betty Whiting.
