Lorraine “Sally” Mae (Wourms Tucker) Rother
Lorraine “Sally” Mae (Wourms Tucker) Rother, age 88, of Cohasset, MN passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Sugar Brook Villa Assisted Living, Cohasset, MN.
Lorraine was born in 1929 in Duluth, MN to Daniel and Anna Helewski. She graduated from Central High School in Duluth, MN. For a short time, she worked as a bank teller in Duluth. On October 4, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gerald Wourms and they made their home in Cohasset, MN. Lorraine was a homemaker and also did adult foster care for people in need. Gerald passed away in 1985. In 1986, Lorraine married William Ross Tucker. They made their home in Bena, MN until he passed in 1998. In 2000, Lorraine was united in marriage to William “Bill” Rother. Lorraine was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Red Hat Society, and the quilting group at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Federal Dam, MN. She loved quilting, crocheting, knitting, and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Gerald Wourms; 2nd husband, William Ross Tucker; 2 sisters, Mary Anderson and Dorothy Elmquist; three brothers, John, Jerry, and James Helewski; 2-son-in-laws, Danny O’Brien and Kenneth Schwartz; 1 granddaughter, Victoria Ann Sunne; 1 step-grandchild; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Rother; 5 daughters, Judy (Jim) Mundt of Walker, MN, Penny O’Brien of Cohasst, MN; Michelle Schwartz of Grand Rapids, MN, Roxanne (Gary) Foley of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Shirley (Mark) Schackman of Kerkhoven, MN; three sons, Nick (Anita) Wourms of Cohasset, MN, Michael (Juli) Wourms of Warba, MN, and Joseph (Kathy) Wourms of Cohasset, MN; three step sons, William (Ruth) Rother, Jr. of Plainview, MN, Edward (Donna) Rother of Plainview, MN, and John Rother of Oakland, CA; 31 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. until the 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Cohasset, MN. Fr. Charlie Friebohle will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset, MN.
