Matthew Duane Bristow

Matthew Duane Bristow, age 43 of Bloomington, passed away on March 19, 2026 following a serious accident. He was at Regions Hospital from March 7 until he passed peacefully surrounded by his family and friends.
Matthew was born on December 6, 1982 in Spencer, Iowa to Richard and Debbie (nee Fisk) Bristow. He grew up in Plainview, MN. He was a 2000 graduate of Plainview High School where he loved sports, playing soccer and pond hockey. Matt was most proud as a father to his daughter, Hannah. He enjoyed many of the outdoor opportunities Minnesota affords. He loved to fish and track wildlife. Being outside in nature was his favorite place. Matt worked as a property and plant manager. He was trained as an HVAC repair technician. Matt was also a creative artist who enjoyed painting and making unique art pieces using “found” items.
Matt was preceded in death by his beloved mother and grandparents. He is survived by his daughter Hannah, of South St. Paul, his brother, Benjamin (Megan) and their family and his father, Richard Bristow of Foley. He leaves behind a large, loving extended family who will miss him and his great sense of humor. In lieu of a funeral, his ashes will be scattered in nature and a tree planted in his honor.
