Remembering Jackson

They say Jackson Schneider was a spunky little fellow.
"He never met a stranger, that's for sure," said his father, Plainview Police Chief Tim Schneider.
"He wasn't shy," said his mother, MariClair, Plainview's City Clerk.
And, MariClair said, her boy would have been crazy about the city's renovated community swimming pool.
Jackson died of cancer in August 2009, age 8. But his memory lives on, thanks to Plainview-Elgin-Millville school classmates with whom he would have graduated this past spring. They raised $200 to add landscaping or perhaps a tree near a rustic bench created in his honor on their behalf.
The bench was placed in a good spot last week. Down by the swimming pool.
"I think he would think it's pretty cool," MariClair said. "It's very heartwarming. It means a lot."
