Judy R. Schott

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Judy R. Schott (Kester), wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Judy was raised in St. Charles, MN, and passed away on October 12, 2026. She worked at International Transport, was a daycare provider for 21 years, and worked at St. Charles Elementary School as a paraprofessional. To this day, Judy has kept everything her daycare kids and students gave or made for her. She loved kids and was a warm and nurturing person to many, including animals. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a Charter Member of the St. Charles Women of the Moose.
She loved a good joke, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. For 22 years, she cherished her six weeks yearly in Maui with Bernie. Judy could be found hanging out with the many friends she met in Maui, having a Mai Tai, whale watching, gecko watching, and simply soaking up the sun. Judy also enjoyed her time at the family chalet on Lake Delton in the Wisconsin Dells, spending time at River's Edge enjoying their famous shrimp dinner, doing a shake a day, pull tabs, and a Long Island Iced Tea. Her annual resupply of Kilburn Red from Fawn Creek Winery and, of course, a stop at Ishnala for her favorite hors d'oeuvres and a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet, more often than not with her sister Donna by her side. Each trip to the Dells, of course, was not complete without a stop at the Outlet Center for some shopping therapy. We are blessed to have had so many memories of our family spending summer vacations at the chalet, grandkids learning to swim in the pool, and enjoying the beauty of the lake.
Judy is survived by her husband, Bernard Schott Sr.; children, Kimberly Schott of St. Charles, Bernie Jr. (Amy Brown) Schott of Rochester, and Benjamin (Angie) Schott of Rollingstone; her sister, Donna Schultz of St. Charles; grandchildren, Kameron Haimes, Katarina (Shane) Kosen, Elleanna (Schott) Johnson, Devin Booker, Boden Schott, and Brooks Schott; and great-grandchildren, Oliver Kosen, Arthur Kosen, Adalyn Kosen, Blake Graham, and Dahlia Booker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Dorothy Kester; her sister, Joyce Wurl; as well as her many beloved animals: Tuffy, Bryn, Brewskie, Britches, Brau, Bruizer, Bozley, Molly, Teddy, Willow, and Chestnut.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles, MN from 8:30am to 10:30am. The memorial service will begin at 10:30am. Judy will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN. A Celebration of Life will continue at The Mosse Lodge #1114 in St. Charles, MN from 12pm to 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to your local Humane Society.
Hoff Funeral Home – St. Charles is assisting the family with arrangements.
