Nancy Ann (Brand) Lorenz

Nancy Ann (Brand) Lorenz, 76 of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester. She was surrounded by family.
Nancy was born November 4, 1948 in Winona to Melvin and Anna (Verdick) Brand. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation, Nancy moved off the farm and married Chuck Lorenz in 1967. Then later divorced. Nancy spent all of her life in Lewiston with her four children.
Many will remember Nancy owning and operating the Rustic Bar & Cafe in Lewiston, MN. She enjoyed bartending, socializing and having a good time. She also spent many years working at Rush Products (10 years), Riverside Electronics (23 years) and TDC in Stockton (5 years). After leaving those jobs, she set up home health care in her home where she took care of her parents and aunt.
In Nancy’s younger years, she loved bartending and attending parties. As she grew older, she loved to host family get togethers for holidays and special occasions. All were invited and greeted with her smile as she loved being with family and friends. In her spare time, she would go to auctions and watch the deals on QVC. You would also find her babysitting grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In December 2002, she had a kidney transplant that slowed her down as she had to navigate this new chapter of life. Nancy had a passion for cooking and baking . She also enjoyed researching family history and would share stories of her findings with others that would listen. Nancy was close to God and spent many hours doing her Rosary and praying for family and friends.
Nancy is survived by two sons, Jody (Veronica) Lorenz and Todd (Kathy) Brand and daughter Tricia (Craig) Bartsh; five grandchildren and has great grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Roger) Thesing, Joanne Burt, Susan (Richard) Pagel and Danny (Christine) Brand, special cousin, Gloria Smith, special friend, Dan Merchlewitz and special forever friend, Lynne (Brintnal) Erickson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by son, Jerry Lorenz; her parents, Melvin and Anna Brand; sister, Dolly Whetstone; and brother-in-law, Merlin (Bozy) Burt.
Nancy’s memorial service will be at St. Rose of Lima Church at a later date as she donated her body to Mayo Clinic for research.
