Ballot set for spring election in Strum

STRUM - The ballot for Village of Strum for the spring election has been set.

The persons on the ballot are all incumbents for the three seat up for election this term. The candidates are: Josh Stendahl, Matt Nelson and Sherry Bjerke.

A special meeting of the Strum Village Board was held on Jan. 3. The board approved a building permit for David Frederikson for a 40’X60’ airplane hanger at Viking Airport. There was also a discussion on the application of property taxes on airport hangars.

Committee meetings were also set up for the following: a Finance Committee meeting scheduled to calculate the prices of the school property lots, a Public Safety Committee meeting regarding the questions of the pole building ordinances, as well as Public Welfare Committee to discuss the lights at Spangberg Field.

After the board's December meeting on Dec. 13 there was discussion of submitted business plans for the Viking Recreation Area. A motion was passed by the board to extend the current lease for 30 days and request financial from them for review. The board approved the sale of 80’ X 560’ village property to the Viking Flying Club for $1.
