E-S School Board approves bids on summer projects
CENTRAL - Bids for two summer maintenance projects to the Eleva-Strum School Building were approved by the school board during its March 11 meeting in the LMC while one was tabled to request more bids.
A bid by Swanson Flooring to replace the carpet in the LMC, which would take place in early June, was approved along with a quote from NEVCO for a new LED scoreboard on the football field to replace our existing one, a bid by Pine Valley Painting to paint the high school office and commons to match the bright white found in other areas of the building were all approved. A project to replace the tiled areas of the middle/high school with epoxy flooring was tabled to get more bids.
The Board also accepted the Start College Now applications, approved the CESA No. 10 services contract for the 2024-2025 school year along with the Cluster A agreement and Pape School Bus contract and all budget transfers for the current school year.
There's is a four percent increase in the school bus contract.
Jim Husby from the Eleva-Strum Lions Club presented the Board with a donation of $2,000 for the District.
Board members received an update on the new fitness center: Pine Valley Painting was here March 8 – 9, painting the weight room and hallway outside of the weight room. Rubber flooring was installed on March 11 – 12. The fitness equipment arrived on March 14, and was assembled on March 14, 15, and 18. Staff and their families will have free access to the fitness equipment.
After coming out of closed session, the Board agreed to the following resignations: Aaron Roemhild, JV Girls Basketball Coach; J.B. Grangaard, Varsity Girls Basketball Coach; Adam Zwiefelhofer, Middle School Football Coach; Kurt Ohlhues, C-Team Volleyball and C-Team Boys Basketball, Luke Denniston, JV Boys Basketbal and Paul Janson, Varsity Boys Basketball. The following hires were then approved by the Board: Taylor Rathke, Assistant Baseball Coach, Nolan Taylor, Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach; Rebecca Mengel, .6 FTE Occupational Therapist and Chris Keen, High School Assistant Football Coach.
