E-S School Board approves pay increases at May meeting
CENTRAL - Several pay increases to administrative, teaching and support staff were unanimously approved by the Eleva-Strum School Board at its May meeting in the Central School Building IMC back on the 10th.
A 2.5% base pay increase to the teacher compensation model was adopted by the Board as was a 5.02% increase for support staff pay and a 4.5 percent increase in administrative contracts coming out of closed session.
Superintendent Cory Kulig update the Board on several facility projects: track stripping will begin in June , to repair cracks and then will apply the new surface later; No Boundaries will use reclaimed wood and metal from the old middle school bleachers and the new ones will be installed in August; the high school bleachers in the gym will be improved by adding hand rails; the home football bleachers also need repairs; we are exploring options for addressing issues with the away team football bleachers; we are seeking quotes for a new bell, PA system, and clocks.
The following resignations were unanimously approved with thanks: Mandy Redemann, internal substitute teacher/CTeam volleyball coach; Rita Berge, Title One reading interventionist; Cassie Pronschinske, elementary special education teacher; Halley Lepsch; EL teacher; Mary Summers, prom advisor; Krystal Martinson, prom advisor; and MollyPanasuk, middle school social studies teacher. The following staff were hired: Scott McConnell, middle school track coach; Taylor Klemme, MS/HS counselor; Anna Leffel, middle school social studies teacher; Katie Bilski, math coach/interventionist.
In other agenda items: A new fishing club at the school was approved as were open enrollment requests for the 2023-24 school year, the 2023-2024 staffing plans, including both the decisions that were made at the April meeting and new proposals to stay with one MS/HS combined band and choral instructor and a new new Dean of Students/Athletic Director position.
