Easter in July celebration in Hixton

HIXTON - Like so many other things, COVID-19 has either postponed or cancelled many gatherings, including the 20th annual Hixton Youth Organization’s Easter Egg hunt.
Fortunately for those who entered the Hixton Youth Organization’s Easter coloring contest, that part of the event wasn’t cancelled - things were just put off a little, and now comes the announcement of the winners.
Congratulations to: 0-2 - 1st prize Logan Kling, 2nd Prize Beila Burdick. 3 to 4K 1st prize Evelyn Karls, 2nd prize Colby Brown, 3rd Prize Cassidy LaBar. Grade K-1 - 1st Prize Layne Kling, 2nd prize -Alicianna Rodriguez, 3rd prize Ben Sedelbauer. Grade 2-3 - 1st Prize Tylan Brown, 2nd Prize -Ella Sedelbauer, 3rd Prize-Emerick LaBar. Grades 4-5 - 1st Prize Agnes Rodriguez, 2nd prize Hayden Brown, 3rd prize Kathleen LaBar. Middle/High School - 1st prize Lydia McConnell, 2nd prize Abby Rodrieguez, 3rd prize Kenley Brown, Adult - 1st prize Brittany Maassen 2nd place -Derek LaBar, 3rd place -Emma Karls. Chocolates were won by Kimberly Eberhardt the total was 259, she guessed 253. Jelly Beans were won by Titan Lillis-Wilkinson - the total was 634 - the guess was 631.
Winners picked up their prizes at the Cheese Hut.
Judging was based on imagination, use of color and different mediums and each entry had its own appeal. It was heartwarming to see how many families participated and that the adults had the most entries.
The Hixton Youth Organization appreciates everyone who entered and their patience waiting for results during this time of COVID
