Hanson-Lien American Legion Holds Successful (and Darn Tasty) Fundraiser.

HIXTON - The over sixty people who arrived at the Legion Hall in Hixton knew they were in for a triple treat for their evening meal. This 9th annual event, held back on February 22nd, had a pizza buffet, oyster stew and chili on their menu and plenty to enjoy. Knowing that the proceeds from the evening would be used toward benefiting youth and veteran programs made it a win/win.

In giving compliments to the chefs, Rocky Jarvis made the chili, he and his grandson Seth were the pizza chefs and Al Jacobson made the oyster stew.

In addition to the delicious food, a popular part of the evening was the Chinese raffle with prizes “too many to list”. Mike Jarrett, Legion Commander thanked the many local area businesses and individuals who donated items. “The raffle is a major part of the success of the evening and I can’t thank everyone enough for their generous contributions, the teamwork involved with setting up the fundraisers and to all who attended. The community support is always amazing - we couldn’t do it without you and we thank you!
