Hixton celebrates sixth annual car show
HIXTON - If you appreciate fine displays of vintage vehicles, you knew that the place to be would be the 6th Annual Hixton Car Show back on Aug. 31.
Hosted by The Village Peddler of Hixton, LLC in memory of Carol Rittschof, this show welcomed all makes, years, models, of cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles. This year approximately 170 vehicles were on display with 20 trophies awarded. Admission and entry fees were by free will donations and folks were generous. A 100 percent proceeds donation of $1,300.00 has already been made to St, Jude's Children's Hospital.
Food was available from the Taylor Hanson Legion who featured their local favorites--hamburgers and brats. This year 120 brats and 240 burgers were served. Attendees enjoyed, DJ music, and a 50/50 raffle. The nearby flea market (Aug 29-31) with over 50 booths set up also did a brisk business. A special Hixton First Responders 50/50 Fundraiser Raffle was held. Beautiful weather played an important part of the fun of the day. Looking forward to next year!
