Hixton Fire Department holds annual dance, crowns new court

HIXTON - At the Hixton FIre and Rescue dinner and dance back on July 11, Nora Gerke was crowned the 2025 Hixton Fire Queen. She is the daughter of Luke and Allison Gerke. She was sponsored by Hixton Cheese. First attendant 1s Wynona Heard, sponsored by Cobble Stone Cottage and 2nd attendant is Serraphina Heard, sponsored by Cain's Orchard, daughters of Derrick and Carmen Heard. Saying goodbye after a year of fun representing Hixton is Queen Ella Sedelbauer, daughter of Ryan and Maritere Sedelbauer and First Attendant, now 2025 Queen.Nora Gerke.

The 2025 court was chosen by an out of town judge after interviews and board displays of each candidate's interests and future plans. Best wishes to these young ladies and here's to an exciting upcoming year! The court will be cheering on the contestants for the Miss Karner Blue Butterfly and Miss Black River Falls pageants and will be working at Sundae on the Farm to begin their reign.

There were 832 delicious meals served as the fundraiser for the volunteer fire and rescue department took place despite the rain that day. There were plenty of activities for people to partake in, good food to eat plus a parade and fireworks show as well.
