HIXTON - If you hold it, they will come” to Hixton’s Flea Market and More
The flea markets held at Hixton have been very popular throughout the summer and for the Labor Day event, it was no exception, as folks gathered to find treasures, visit with friends, and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the last holiday weekend of the summer.
Not only were the buyers having fun, but the vendors as well. There had been 50 vendors expected and were set up among the trees in the back and sides of the Peddler’s Wife building.
Denise Krosinski and her Sew Good business featuring masks, Bowl Cozies and Plate Cozies. Microwave potato bags and corn on the cob bags, also microwave popcorn bags, potholders, wineglass coasters, jar openers, appliance covers, bag holders, has been more than satisfied with her experience at the Hixton Flea Market.
“This time we were set up back among the trees with plenty of distance between tents. I was set up next to my dad, Dave Nelson of Dave’s Tee Shirts and it was a great location. We met lots of great people and are very pleased with our sales.”
Kim of Brenda’s Fry Bread agreed. “We had a very fun and busy weekend at the flea market this past Labor Day weekend. The car show really brought in a huge crowd and the flea market continues to grows with new members. I look forward to seeing familiar faces as well as some new ones every time we are invited back. The Hixton community supports us well!”
Watching people going back to their cars with one, then two, then three or more “treasures” and big smiles on their faces was a fun part of the time spent there. Whether a person was looking for antiques, crafts, t-shirts, artwork, flags, and just plain interesting “stuff” they certainly had a great selection at the Hixton Labor Day weekend flea market.
