Jackson County approves 2023 budget

BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved by unanimous 18-0 vote the tax levy of $11,543,639 at its November meeting held back on the 14th,

The total county budget for 2023 will be y $37,348,475,00.

In other budget related matters the Board approved continuing the recycling program with $50,000 contribution from the Ho-Chunk Nation to help it continue to operate after revenues have declined some 50 percent in the past several years. They also approved a 6.86 percent salary scale structure adjustment for 2023 for county employees off set by an approved authorizes $400,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funds to offset wage and benefit expenses for the 2024 budget cycle and they approved the service fee schedule for the Sheriff's Department
