Jackson County Board to enter into opioid legal settlement
BLACK RIVER FALLS - The Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved approved resolution to enter into litigation for a settlement with The Kroger
Co in the opioid distribution case at its June meeting held back on the 17th at the county government center.
The Board voted unanimously to authorize the County to enter into the Settlement Agreement, the Addendum Two, establish the County’s Opioid Abatement Account, and establish the Attorney Fees Account;.
County Board unanimously authorizes that the net revenue generated from the well delegation permits will be retained in a designated line with Fund 20 for water lab growth, capacity, and maintenance. This amount shall not exceed $100,000. They also adopted unanimously changes to the Jackson County Ordinance Chapter 11 (Health and Human Services) and the addition of sections 11.07 on private water systems. These changes are in accordance with the DNR's Private Drinking Water Program and have been approved by the Jackson County Board of Heath
However the Board turned down a resolution that would change the county's Animal Waste and Manure Management Ordinance and Livestock and Animal Facility Licensing Ordinance by a 13-6 margin
The Board approved unanimously to make changes in language in Jackson County’s Statement of Investment Policy and Procedures to be updated to reflect changes in statute and procedure and also approved an increases on the cap on the Forestry Land Acquisition Account to $300,000 and voted to provide for the continuation of a self-insured worker’s compensation program among county workers that is currently in effect.
