Norma Sue Horinek

Norma Sue Horinek, 91, of rural Wabasha, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at her home. Sue was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on January 11,1934 to Orpha (Shanley) and Hebron Crain. She was formerly mar-ried to Glenn McCurry. On Au-gust 7, 1957, she married Don Horinek in Des Moines, IA.Sue was with the house keeping department at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Wabasha for 31 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She rode with Don in many parades with their antique cars. She enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her children: Mike (Shirley) McCurry; Pat (Ann) McCurry; Ken-neth (Julie) Horinek; Ronald Horinek; stepchildren: Bruce Horinek; Donna (Jerry) Kisabeth; many grandchildren and great grandchildren: a brother Glen (Lily) Crain; sister Nadine Bruner; many nieces and nephews. Sue is preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; brothers Ray Crain and Keith Crain, sister Naomi Winters and a granddaughter Jasmin.A gathering of family and friends will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha, followed by the interment at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha, MNServices entrusted to Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory, Wabasha, MN.
