O-F girls golfers win first two conference meets, lowering team scores
The first two prep Clover-Croix Girls Golf Conference meets were won by Osseo-Fairchild this week.
On Monday, Aug. 29, the Thunder took first in the league meet at Mondovi's Valley Golf Course. O-F shot a 207 followed by Stanley-Boyd's 217, Colfax/Elk Mound's 225 and Bloomer's score of 229. O-F's scores were Trinity Knudtson, 46, Tymeka Eisberner, 50, Eleice Dahl 52, Melanie Anderson 59 and Brenna Seefeldt 65. Knudtson, Dahl, Anderson and Seefeldt are all returning letter winners for the Thunder.
O-F had a repeat performance 24 hrs. later at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. The Thunder lowered their team score by seven strokes and won with a mark of 200 followed by Stanley-Boyd and Colfax/Elk Mound 210 each and Bloomer 224. Knudtson finished second behind meet medalist Bella Kongshaug of Colfax/Elk Mound (36) shooting a 43 while teammates Dahl, Eisberner, Seefeldt, and Andersen shot scores of 50, 51, 56 and 61.
This precision has developed since the start of the season from OFHS's experience was apparent in two big meets last week for the Thunder. At the Spartan Invitational in Sparta played on Wednesday, Aug. 24, O-F shot an 18-hole score opf 409 which tied them for third in the 10-team field. Knudtson shot a score of 100 while Eisberner, Dahl and Seefeldt each shot scores of 103 and Andersen had a 119. Amelia Zingler of Tomah was the meet medalist shooting a 75.
Twenty-Four hours before, at the Viking Classic hosted by Holmen at Drugan's Castle Mound Golf Course, O-F finished in fourth with a score of 410 with Knudtson shooting a 98, Eisnberner 101, Dahl 103, Seefeldt 108 and Anderson 114. Zingler again won the meet medlaist title, this time with an 18-hole score of 68.
