Osseo City Council approves various public works agenda items
OSSEO - The Osseo City Council at its May meeting back on the 11th at city hall approved a lengthy list of agenda items under the public works section of the meeting.
Most notably was the decision to not open the city pool this summer due to the COVID-19 virus.
The council adopted several resolutions and motions in relation to a proposed new water treatment plant including contracts for design with the public engineering firm SEH out of Chippewa Falls and a new salt storage shed.
The council also approved several resolution in the application for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) including those for grant submission and application for matching funds and policies to prevent anti-residential displacement and the use of excessive force and applicable state laws concerning non-violent civil right demonstrations and physically barring entrances and exits to public facilities and housing along with a fair housing ordinance.
The council also discussed city parking regulations, rental inspections, the recycling center, tree purchase update and approved a motion to allow the Osseo Golf Club to solicit sponsors for the volleyball nets in Stoddard Park for the proposed sand volleyball area.
