Strum Village Board deals with Public Works staffing
STRUM - The Village Board of Strum, the full Board, gave its authority to the Board's Personnel Committee to interview and hire a new Public Work's Director during the Board's August meeting back on Aug. 11 at the Strum Civic Center.
Because of the lack of personnel in the Public Work's Department without a director, the Board agreed to a motion to close the Garbage/Recycling Center on certain dates in August and September.
It was also because of lack of personnel at the time that a complaint was forwarded to the Board concerning the main pavilion in Woodland Park before the Yoga in the Park event. After some discussion the Board came to a consensus that Public Works Department can only be accountable for so much as the Village only has so many employees. The groups/committees who are scheduling such events can help out and do their part also by going to check things out prior to event and cleanup what they can to make presentable and pleasant for everyone.
The Board also approved to operator's licenses before adjourining.
