The village's Public Works Department reported to the board on an incident which occurred back on Aug. 25 when a power line was hit while digging in a service on Elm Street. With the hitting of the line, the water plant lost one phase of the power which affected the dehumidifier and a starter. An insurance claim will be filed.

The department also reported that the Maple Street Wellhouse has a well on the northside of Maple Street that was inoperable. A well on the south side was working, but a leak in the intersection of 2nd Street S and Maple Street was reported and with numerous people utilizing the well, the department had to fill up the tank manually.

The department approved contract to have Ayres public engineering firm start the measurements and get the process started for a future dredging project in Crystal Lake.
