Strum Village Board holds August meeting
STRUM - The village board of Strum met for its August meeting held on the 9th in the Village Hall. All members were present.
The board gave its unanimous approval to an improvement project to the beach at Crystal Lake for a cost of $7,500. The bid was from Quality Habitat and will leave a 40-ft. open section for the beach. The same company also just completed a rip-rap project at the campground.
Upon recommendation of the village board's Finance Committee, the full board unanimously approved a bid from RM Schlosser and Sons for the Buffalo River WQT Project.
The board also approved a building permit for.Howard Hanson – 551 Tower Drive for a 12’X12’ covered porch.
During the meeting board members heard updates from Trempealeau County Sheriff Brett Semingson, a request from the Strum Rod and Gun Club to help cut brush for the walking trail across from the Viking Recreation Area top go with their willingness to help with the beach renovations and replant pollinator and they heard a proposal from citizen Kathy Ness for a private campground for "Glamping"-style camping which is an upscale kind of camping with fancy amenities, to be located at 701 Elm St.
