Strum Village Board holds special meeting

STRUM - A special meeting was held by the Strum Village Board back on July 18 at the Village concerning the connection of laterals to the new sewer main that happens to run under several businesses in Strum, including the CCU building and Strum lockers.

The owners of Strum Locker were at the meeting and informed that the sewer line will need to be extended to connect to the new main that is being installed. Brad Olson, Director of Public Works, stated that once the line is located, they will need to cut the concrete in the floor to connect the sewer line. Olson will meet with a plumber to see if and when this can be done for both buildings.

During the regular July meeting of the Board held back on July 10, the Board approved a pay request in the amount of $66,120.01 to Ayres Associates for their work on the village's alley project. They also approved the installation of new lights at Spangberg Field and an operator's license for the facility as well along with a Class B Fermented Malt Beverage license for the ballfield as well.

Citizens in the village have been expressing their concerns about roosters located on property at 221 W Hickory Street. The village agreed to contact the property owner and let them know roosters are not allowed within the Village limits.
