Betty M. Procopio, 92, Wabasha

 Betty M. Procopio, age 92, of Wabasha, died Monday, August 31, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born April 22, 1923 in Kasota, MN, the daughter of Marks and Emma (Wolf) Reed. She married Joseph Procopio November 4, 1943 in Topeka, KS. Joe worked for IBM and Betty was a homemaker. The couple moved to rural Wabasha in 1971. Joe died May 26, 1991.
 She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha and a member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 Auxiliary. Betty was also an active volunteer at St. Elizabeth’s in the 90’s. She and Joe were avid golfers and longtime members of the Coffee Mill Golf and Country Club in Wabasha. She was an excellent bridge player and an accomplished bowler, winning many tournaments locally in Minnesota and nationally in Las Vegas in the 70’s.
 Betty is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Bruno and Shari Procopio, Centennial, CO and Mark Procopio, Gainesville, FL and two granddaughters, Lisa Bergerson and Kristin Procopio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her parents, Marks and Emma Reed, two brothers and three sisters.
 Her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00am at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha with the Reverend Father Joseph LaPlante officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to St. Elizabeth’s Community Development Foundation, 1200 5th Grant Blvd. W., Wabasha, MN 55981.
