A private funeral mass for Cindy Florence (Olson) Hartert will be Friday, November 27, 2020 at the St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview with Rev. William Becker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joachim Cemetery.
Cindy Hartert, 60, of Plainview, died Saturday (November 21, 2020) at home surrounded by family and friends following a cancer illness.
Cindy was born on November 19, 1960 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Wabasha, MN to Robert and Shirley (Deming) Olson. In 1979, Cindy graduated from Plainview High School. After high school, she attended Rochester Cosmetology School, Cindy worked at Spicer Beauty Salon, The Hair Gallery, and owned and operated the Charter House Salon for the last ten years. On October 28, 1990 Cindy married John Hartert at St. Joachim Church in Plainview. They were married for 30 years. Cindy was a member of the Plainview American Legion Auxiliary, enjoyed crafting, decorating her home, her dogs (Tina and Tippy), entertaining friends and family at her home and her job of making others beautiful. Her laugh lightened up a room!
Cindy is survived by her husband John; mother Shirley Olson; brother Richard (Liz) Olson; brother and sister-in-laws, Kathy Bignell, Virgina (LaVerne) Kronebusch, Mary Lou (Gary) Fritz, Thomas Hartert and Joanne (Donald) Schultz; many nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles.
Preceding Cindy in death was her father Robert Olson, her brother Gary Olson, Grandparents Florence and Edward Deming and Burt and Vida Olson. Her brother-in-law and sister-in-law William and Diane Hartert, brother-in-law Tim Bignell, and her in-laws Arthur and Frances Hartert.
