Clarence J. Evers, 87 of Wabasha, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Gundersen – St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha, MN.
Clarence Joseph was born November 5, 1934, in Wabasha, to Leo and Catherine (Tushaus) Evers. He graduated from St. Felix High School, Wabasha and served in the US Army Reserves. On September 5, 1964, he married Mary Ann Weisenbeck, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Durand, WI.
Clarence was a life-long area resident and was a self-employed carpenter and carpet layer for many years. He was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and their St. Joseph Society. He enjoyed his casino trips, where he was ‘always a winner’. He attended many auctions and loved to listen to polka music.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; two sons: Steve (Chris) Evers and Todd (Deb) Evers; a son-in-law Randy Rotering; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nine siblings: Viola Miller; Herman “Hermie” Evers; Bernita McQuiston; Elmer “Ike” (Mary) Evers; Judy (Dick) Herbst; Donny “Grannie” (Kathy) Evers; Cecelia (Marty) Wagner; Ralph “Pete” Evers; and Ellie “Snooks” (Jay) Taverna; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Brian Evers; daughter Deb Rotering; brother Bert Evers and a sister Mary Keeley.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, at St. Felix Catholic Church, with Rev. Glenn Frerichs officiating. Interment will be at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha, MN, with military honors provided by Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post 4086, Wabasha, and the American Legion Post 50, Wabasha.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at church.
