Daniel John Ryan

Daniel John Ryan passed peacefully into heaven on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Judy; a proud and loving father to his daughters, Callie and Hannah; and a cherished grandfather, uncle, and friend whose warmth and humor brought joy to many.Born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota, Dan developed a lifelong love of the outdoors, spending cherished time in Wabasha along the Mississippi River. Fishing, hunting, and boating were among his greatest joys. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. Dan built a distinguished career as an engineer and manager at Honeywell, Medtronic, and Emerson Electric.A gifted craftsman and entrepreneur, Dan could fix or build just about anything. His most recent business, Pool 4 Adventures, allowed others to share in his love for the Mississippi River. Above all, Dan treasured time with his family - especially his role as Grandpa to Hayes Daniel. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another grandson this summer.Dan’s strength, resilience, humor, and gentle spirit will live on in all who knew him. We find comfort in knowing he is now at peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Dan was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beverly Ryan; brothers Mark and Murray; and sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Judy Ryan; daughters Callie Ryan and Hannah Herschberger (Grant); grandson Hayes Daniel Herschberger; brother James Ryan Jr; and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly.A celebration of life was held at Eagle Brook Church in Spring Lake Park, MN on January 30th, 2026. Burial was at St. Felix Cemetery in Wabasha, MN. Arrangements with Kozlak-Radulovich Chapel, 763-783-1100.
