David James Walton

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of David James Walton at the age of 40. He passed away after a long battle of diabetes and MS on November 6, 2023 at his home.
David was born on August 7, 1983 in LaCrosse, WI to David and Victoria Opsahl. After the passing of his birth mother and with the blessing of his birth father, David was adopted by Pamela and Michael Walton. He grew up with his 3 siblings, Lisa, Jamie, and Chelle in Wabasha, MN.
David's biggest joys in his life were his three children, AnnaDeja, Max, and Trinity. His face lit up when he talked about them. He was so proud to be their Dad.
David was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He found solace in his countless hours on the land owned by his Dad and Stepmom, Nancy, in Nelson, WI.
David was a long-time employee at Angels Haven in Menomonie where he provided care and support to individuals with disabilities. He was adored by the patients; as was his dog.
David was preceded in death by his birth mother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a close cousin.
David is survived by his three children, AnnaDeja, Maxamis, and Trinity, along with their mother, Nikki. His parents, Pamela Walton, Michael and Nancy Walton, and his birth father, David (Sara) Opsahl. His siblings, Lisa (Jeff) McGee, Jamie (Sara) Walton, Chelle (Ross) Weeden, and Chad (Michelle) Weltzin. Nieces and nephews, Chloé, Piper, Nini, Harlow, Lily, Hudson, Abbigail, Kailah, and Jaxsen.
