Dennis L. Boie, 64,

Dennis L. Boie, age 64, passed away unexpectedly January 22, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN, with his loving family at his side.  Born November 16, 1953 to Leslie (Bud) Boie and Mary (Schneider) Boie.  Denny graduated from Plainview High School in 1971.  In high school he tried golfing and fell in love with the game.  He later became a grounds keeper for Piper Hills Golf Course and was learning all aspects of the game from playing to taking care of the course.  He loved to compete in High School on the Golf team.  After graduation he was then always on the course playing golf with all of his buddies.  To know Denny there was a FEW bets on the game they were playing with lots of funny stories to follow. Until the day he died he always had a story about a day of golf with the guys and to any of you reading this I’m sure there is a smile on your face thinking of those memories. He never forgot any of them.
He married Cindy Glomski from Wabasha, MN on January 26, 1974, and they would have been married 44 years this Friday.  After his marriage Denny started working in the electrical business with Cindy’s uncle, Bill Glomski, who owned Lake City Electric. Later he joined Ron’s Electric in Lake City and there while working he studied to earn his Masters Electrical License.  He eventually purchased Ron’s Electric and ran his business as Denny’s Lake City Electric. After several years of running his business he had an opportunity to become a State Electrical Inspector for Wabasha County, part of Goodhue County and a part of Winona County. He loved meeting so many people and had great rapport with so many of the electricians. With so much of his daily traveling the game of golf went by the wayside.  He later retired and had totally just enjoyed taking care of his four-legged children in his home and spending time with Cindy and of course driving all over Lake City in his red pick-up on a daily basis watching all the building activity going on in Lake City. That big hand was always waving out the window to so many people he knew.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and five little fur babies whom he adored and spoiled completely; two sisters, Bea (Kent) Harrington of Plainview, Diana (Tim) Pries of Kellogg; sisters-in-law, Pat Wright, Michelle Holman (Homer); brothers-in-law Phil (Lori) Glomski, Steve Glomski (Mary Dawn); nephews and nieces, Ryan, Molly, Meghan, Ben, Jason, Kelly, Amy, Joe, Drew, Trevor, Matt and Jessie and their spouses and friends and eight ADORABLE great-nephews and nieces, and he loved them all so much. He was preceded in death by his best friend (his dad) Bud, his mother Mary, and his sister Brenda.  He was a very simple man, and he will so very much be missed by all who knew him and loved him along with his ANTICS on the golf course, in fishing boats, or just plain sitting at a table with his buddies, they never stopped. I will miss my best friend and Husband. Goodbye for now BG (BIG GUY), go on and fly with the Eagles, or BIRDIES or maybe even an ACE, I LOVE YOU.
A Celebration of Denny’s Life was held Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City from 4 to 7 pm. A Burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be placed at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
