Dorothy J. Miller. 83, Wabasha

 Dorothy J. Miller, age 83, of Wabasha, died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. She resided there the past 1 ½ years because of failing health. She was born June 19, 1933 in Stockton, MN, the daughter of Ray and Thea (Nelson) Miller. She was a 1951 graduate of Kellogg High School, graduating as co-valedictorian with her twin brother, Darrell. After graduation she worked one year for the Wabasha County Extension Service. She then enrolled in the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis pursuing a program in the secretarial field. Upon graduation she was hired and employed by the Cargill Corporation, becoming an important member of their engineering team. Dorothy worked for Cargill for 35 years. She took early retirement in 1988 and moved back to Wabasha to live with and assist her mother. They spent many enjoyable hours together until Thea’s death in 1997.
 She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wabasha. She enjoyed cooking and baking and enjoyed sharing her goodies with her family and many friends. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and golfing on the Cargill teams and in the winter she enjoyed travelling out west to ski.
 Dorothy is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Romaine and Joyce Miller, Kellogg, MN and Darrell and Martha Miller, Plymouth, MN; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and her very best friend, Berniece Agin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Thea Miller.
 A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wabasha with Pastor Dennis Valleau officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha. Casket bearers will be members of her family. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of service. Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 605 12th St. E., Wabasha, MN 55981. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care and support she received from the nursing staff at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center.
