Dr. Joseph Dale Nadreau. 92, Wabasha

 Dr. Joseph Dale Nadreau, age 92, of Wabasha, a retired Wabasha dentist, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. He was born June 7, 1923 in Chippewa Falls, WI, the son of William and Sidonia (LaPlante) Nadreau. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. While stationed in Paintsville, KY he was united in marriage to Elaine Christopherson March 1, 1943. Upon graduation from Eau Claire Teachers College, he taught English and science to 10th graders in Chippewa Falls. He completed additional certification and then taught special needs children. He later graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI. The family moved to Wabasha in 1962 where he practiced dentistry. He retired in 1982. The couple moved to Fort Myers, FL in 1993. Following Elaine’s death in 2004 he moved back to Wabasha to be near his family.
 Dr. Nadreau was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and the Wabasha American Legion Post #50. He also was a past member of Coffee Mill Golf and Country Club in Wabasha where he and Elaine loved to play golf. He was an avid reader and loved taking walks and watching the birds.
 He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Victor Keefe, Victoria, TX, Jeanne Campbell, Plano, TX, Jo and Larry Kopischke, Wabasha, MN, Sidonia and David Starnes, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Elaine and Allan Roemer, Wabasha, MN; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gyda Nadreau, Chippewa Falls, WI; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, his parents, son-in-law, James Wildes, two brothers, Donald and William Nadreau and one sister, Virginia Mallett.
 A memorial Mass was offered on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha with the Reverend Monsignor Thomas Cook officiating. Interment followed at St. Felix Cemetery. Military rites were performed by the Wabasha American Legion Post #50, the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086 and the MNARNG Honor Guard. Family and friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Thursday from 5-7pm and at the church on Friday one hour before the Mass. The rosary was recited at 6:15pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice-Wabasha Chapter, 1200 5th Grant Blvd. W., Wabasha, MN 55981.
