Helen Marie Kreofsky, 96, Wabasha

Helen Marie Kreofsky, died peacefully at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home in Wabasha, Sunday, July 5, at the age of 96.
She was born on October 4th, 1918 to Theophil and Anna (Kronebusch) Tibesar. She enjoyed growing up with her three sisters on the family farm and has many treasured memories of her country school in Quincy Township.
Helen married Henry (Ben) Kreofsky on September 1st, 1941 in St. Charles, MN. They lived in Plainview and had 3 children. Ben began a career as a building contractor. Helen owned and operated a Beauty Shop. She was an active member of the Catholic Church and a volunteer in the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Helen and Ben moved to Wabasha (Island View) in 1960 where they thoroughly enjoyed their life on the Mississippi. She was an avid reader and loved cooking, gardening, traveling and most of all, time spent with her family and friends.
Helen is survived by a daughter, Karen (Rich) Bouquet; Daughter-in-law, Sarah Kreofsky; 5 grandchildren, Mike (Shelly) Bouquet, Suzy (Dana) Henriksen, Chadd (Angela) Kreofsky, David Kreofsky and Andrew Kreofsky; 2 great-grandchildren, Meghan and MyKenzie Bouquet Henriksen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, two sons, Larry and Donn and three sisters.
Funeral Mass is Thursday, July 9, 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home Chapel in Wabasha with Father Joseph LaPlante officiating. Burial is at St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is Thursday, 1 hour prior to the service at the chapel.
The family prefers memorials to St. Elizabeth’s Community Development Foundation.
