Hilda M. Braatz, 92, formerly of Wabasha

 Hilda M. Braatz, age 92, of Lake City, formerly of Wabasha, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born September 1, 1922, in Randall, MN, one of nine children born to August and Henrietta (Claymont) Mohr. She married Clifford Braatz November 4, 1939 in St. Paul, MN. The couple lived in Minneapolis before moving to rural Wabasha in 1956. Clifford was a well driller in Minneapolis and a self employed well driller in Wabasha. He also was a boiler engineer for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha. Hilda was a homemaker and she worked 40 years as a nurse aid at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Nursing Home. Mr. Braatz died September 8, 2003.
 She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City. She loved growing flowers in her gardens, feeding and watching the birds, crocheting and knitting and the outdoors. She also loved making her delicious chocolate chip cookies for her family and many friends.
 Hilda is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Louis Gluesen, Lake City, MN; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Jean Braatz, Oak Center, MN, Russell and Denise Braatz, Oak Center, MN; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, one great-grandson, two brothers and six sisters.
 A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:00am at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Reverend Doctor Scott Fiege officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha. Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Monday from 5-8pm and at the church on Tuesday one hour before the service.
