Irene Mae Christopherson, Nelson, WI

Irene Mae Christopherson passed away peacefully on March 15, 2019 in her own Nelson home.
Irene was born in Wimbledon, North Dakota on December 25, 1920 to William and Rosina (Haskins) Ruben.
A short time later they moved to Alma with their two girls Pearl and Irene. William planned to help his Father Mathias Ruben in his grocery store, but he died a few years later.
Irene graduated from the Alma High School in 1937. She attended Winona Business College. She then did secretarial work at the J.R. Watkins Company. When the Selective Service Office opened in Buffalo County, she was hired as Chief Clerk. In 1942 she and Lynn Christopherson were married. They owned and operated their farm in Trout Creek until 1966 when he died in an electrical accident.
In 1967 she sold the Farm, bought her home in Nelson, and started working at the Alma School as Secretary where she worked until she retired. She loved Antique Auctions, Bingo with friends, an occasional trip to Turtle Lake, helping out at Senior Center meals, playing piano, dancing and having time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn, and her sister Pearl Wells.
She is survived by a Daughter Bonnie (Gary) Lore, Sons Gary and Randy, Grandson Ryan, Granddaughters Jillian, Cristen and Katie, and Great-grandchildren Jason, Jack, Kallie, Bailey and Logan.

Cremains to be buried privately in the Nelson Cemetery.
