James D. Roemer

James D. Roemer, 80 of Wabasha, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
James Donald was born September 24, 1941, in Wabasha, MN to Lloyd and Christine (Markey) Roemer. He attended Wabasha-Kellogg High School. He was a proud member of the Wabasha Volunteer Fire Department for 23 years, and a past member of the Wabasha City Council. Jim was a self-employed carpenter since 1959.
On July 7, 1962, he married Mary Ann Bennett at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Minneiska, MN.
He is survived by his wife Mary; four children: Jeffrey (Sharon); Julie Roemer; Jim Jr. “Pud”; and Jake (Tina); 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters: Marcia (David) Meyer; Penny Priefert; and Joanie Passe (Larry Andersen); three brothers: Bernard (Shirley); Larry (Jean); and Bob.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha. Interment will be at St. Felix Cemetery, Wabasha.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha and beginning at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
