Janet Lois Drysdale
Janet Lois Drysdale, 91, of West Concord, MN entered heaven peacefully on December 9, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Janet was born on the family farm near Pine Island, MN on December 20,1932 to Charles and Lura (Witter) Brandli.
She attended Pumpkin Hollow school through the eighth grade. Then, after the family moved to the Kasson area, she graduated Valedictorian from Kasson High School in 1950.
She and Duane M. Johnson married in July of 1951 and were later divorced. While living in Rochester Janet earned her BA in Elementary Education from Winona State and taught third-graders at Elton Hills for six years.
After marrying Peter Drysdale in 1974, Janet moved to Kellogg, MN first on the family farm, then into Kellogg where they operated PJ’s Bed and Breakfast for several years.
Janet also worked for Bouquet Enterprises before retiring at LARK Toys after the Drysdales divorced in 2010. Janet was a member of Kellogg United Methodist Church, serving as a certified lay speaker and mission chairperson.
Also active in United Methodist Women, Janet served as District and then Conference officer. She was a member of Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary, St Elizabeth’s Hospital Auxiliary, Wabasha-Kellogg Area Food Shelf, and Book Buddy at WK Elementary for twenty years.
Janet found joy in so many things: gardens, stage plays, traveling, music, Easter egg hunts, reading, babies, coffee or a DQ cone with friends, her church family, dancing, everyone of her grands, great-grands, and great-great grands, prayer, phone calls, hugs and her passion for writing – notes, letters, sermons and poems.
She is survived by a son Brian Johnson of Rochester, MN, three daughters, Diane (Terry) Whitney, Rochester, MN, Jill Walch of Elk River, MN, and Kerri Brown of Stewartville,
MN. Also surviving are eight grands: Jason, Nina, Nichelle, Joe (Leane), Ashley (Jon), Lacey, Jenae and Megan, plus fifteen great-grands: Ian (Grace), Jacob, Tessa, Bayley, Rylan, Alison, Briannna, Jackson, Charlotte, Ryker, Colette, Cecily, Remi, Forrest and Quinley: and one great-great grand: Kinsley and one brother: Donald (Josie) Brandli.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Carle, John, Claire, Lsle, three sisters: Doris, Janice, Dorothy and son David.
The memorial service will be 11:00am Friday, December 20, 2024, at Grace Methodist Church, 801 5th Ave NW, Kasson, MN 55944 with a luncheon following.
