Janice M. Arens

Janice M. Arens, age 91, of Kellogg, passed away Tuesday morning, December 10, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
Janice Mary was born May 22, 1933, in Winona, MN to Katherine (Heaser) and Arthur Wischow. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Winona in 1951. Janice married William J. Arens on February 12, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minneiska and together they raised five children: Ron, Sharon, Keith, Jeff, and Wendy. Bill passed away October 29, 2009.
She was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kellogg; Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary; and ran a day care business for many years.
She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and canning. Janice and Bill were the managers of the Kellogg American Legion for many years and they also had their honey bee business, Honey Harbor Apiaries.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Kathy) Arens, Sharon (Sheldon) Burns, Keith (Teresa) Arens, Jeff (Betty) Arens, and Wendy (Greg) Arens; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; a sister Jean Wischow, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, and a great-grandson, Austin Arens.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg with the Very Reverend Patrick Arens officiating. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
