Jeffrey George Gusa, 66 of Kellogg, MN passed away unexpectedly from a ruptured brain aneurysm on Thursday night, February 05, 2026, at Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, MN surrounded by his immediate family.Jeff was born in Wabasha, MN on March 11, 1959, to Margaret (Hoffman) and Ernest Gusa. He graduated from Wabasha-Kellogg High School in 1977 and started his own construction business right after his high school graduation. He was born in a carpentry and logging family and worked very hard all through his life until the day he passed away. He was an extremely talented and creative craftsman and a reliable contractor. He built up his reputation through fixing any small objects to building residential and commercial buildings. He was trusted and loved by people he worked for and he never let anyone down.Jeff was a loving husband, caring father, a responsible provider and a wonderful friend to all. He looked like a tough guy but he had the gen-tlest, romantic and caring heart. The room would light up right away as soon as he walked in. He always had endless stories to tell vividly to brighten everyone’s day. He also was a great mediator and had talents to turn bad situations better to make everyone happy.He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. Because of him, his families and friends also enjoyed hunting and camping with him up north where he loved to go and part of his ashes will be spread to overlook Elephant Lake where he enjoyed bear hunting and fishing per his wishes.His magnetic charm, caring heart, intelligence, perseverance, his always smiling face, his no-sleeve shirts and suspenders will always be re-membered by the people who have crossed paths with him.Jeff is survived by his wife Jessica; his four children: Jen-nifer (Scott) Graner, Rebecca Newlin, Jason (Kelly) Gusa, and Robert Gusa; step-son Raymond Liu; nine grandchildren: Alliyah (Ryan), Jaxon, Kori, Destiny, Amity, Montgomery, Kaydence, Jayce, Easton; siblings: Barbara (Joe) Kirkwood, Connie Gusa, Bradley (Lisa) Gusa, Darrel (Mary) Gusa, Larry (Shirley) Gusa, and Scott Gusa; sister-in-law Gail Gusa; former wife Connie; and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Gusa and Gary Gusa, and sister-in-law Karen Gusa. Jeff requested no formal funeral service, instead, a celebration of life will be from noon to 4 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Front Porch, Kellogg.We truly appreciate Lake City Ambulance, ED staff, Mayo Clinic Flight Crew and St. Mary’s Hospital Neuro ICU staff for their quick and seam-less responses and passionate care.
