Joyce Burmeister

Joyce Ramona Burmeister, nee Wibel, age 72 of Alma, WI slipped away to go home with her Lord on Monday January 12, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha, MN.
She had resided there since December 12, 2014. Joyce was a brave little lady who fought a terrible battle with cancer. She was born on October 19, 1942, the daughter of Raymond and Mae (Miller) Wibel in the Town of Nelson, Buffalo County, Wisconsin. She attended school in Alma. She finished three years of high school and then married Milan Burmeister. They later divorced. She will be remembered for her love of both flowers and animals.
Joyce is survived by her sisters, Donna Mae (Alva) Schwirtz of Wabasha, Elizabeth (the late Leonard) Stromness of Wabasha and Charlotte (the late Emery) Van Zanten of Pepin, WI; special niece, Sandy (Jack) Newmann of Altura, MN; and special nephew, Randy (Alice) Stein of Lake City, MN; her ‘sister cousins’ Scotty, Mary and Briz. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 24, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel with Pastor Joel Bacon of St. John Lutheran Church in Alma, officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Tell Cemetery, Town of Alma, Buffalo County, WI. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
