Judy McNallan

 Judy McNallan, age 72, a lifelong resident of Wabasha, died at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, St. Mary’s Campus on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 with her loving family at her side. She was born June 8, 1942 in Wabasha, the daughter of Jack and Margaret (Grass) Balow. She graduated from St. Felix High School in 1960. She married Gerald McNallan, of Kellogg, July 2, 1960 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. Judy was a homemaker and after raising their children she entered the workforce. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, McNallan Oil Company. She then worked from 1983-1993 as the manager of Wabasha Kwik Trip. From 1994 until she retired in 2007 she worked at Uni-Patch, which later became Covidien.
 She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed sewing, craft work, baking, playing cards and polka music. She especially loved dancing with her husband to polka bands throughout the area. Her greatest joy was spoiling her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 Judy is survived by her husband, Gerald McNallan, Wabasha, MN; children and spouses, Mike and Brenda McNallan, Durand, WI, Joe McNallan (Lorri Engen), Eleva, WI, Shelly and Doug Heim, Hutchinson, MN, Wendy and Jeff Mueller, Nelson, WI, Patty and Dave Hare, Wabasha, MN, Jackie and John Heins, Jr., Kellogg, MN; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and soon to be born, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lynn and Art Hanson, Wabasha, MN, Kathy and Chuck Jacobson, Valley City, ND, Bonnie and Dale Gibbs, Wabasha, MN, Barb and Bill Meurer, Wabasha, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Leann Balow, Rochester, MN, Jim and Teresa Balow, Wabasha, MN; sisters-in-law, Marlyne Schouweiler, Kellogg, MN, Lucille (Jim) Ajer, Cottage Grove, MN, JoAnn (Bill) Hampel, Minnesota City, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by infant son, John Joseph McNallan, parents, Jack and Margaret Balow, parents-in-law, Joe and Elizabeth McNallan, and brothers-in-law, Jack Dady, Dave Koopman and Ron Schouweiler.
 A funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Felix Catholic Church with the Reverend Monsignor Thomas Cook and Deacon John Hust officiating. Interment was in St. Felix Cemetery. Casket bearers were her nephews: Chad and Kevin Schouweiler, Brian and Christopher Ajer, Jeff Harrington, Troy Koopman, Mike Dady, Jeff Meurer, Adam, Chris and Ryan Balow. Family and friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm at which time there was a prayer service and they also called at the church on Tuesday one hour before the Mass. Memorials are preferred to St. Felix School, 130 3rd St. E., Wabasha, MN 55981. The Abbott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
