Lawrence “Bud” “Larry” William Graner
Lawrence “Bud” “Larry” William Graner, 97, formerly of Kellogg and Lake City, Minnesota passed away Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, at Gunderson St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha, Minnesota with his family by his side. He was born on June 19, 1928, in Wabasha, to Lawrence H. and Maude (McDunn) Graner.
Bud grew up in the Kellogg area and graduated from Wabasha High School in 1946. On March 19, 1948, he married the love of his life, Merna Baldwin at the Methodist parsonage in Winona. They farmed in rural Kellogg from 1948 to 1972. Bud also was employed by Plainview Milk Products from 1969 to 1988 when he went to work for Elba Co-op Creamery until he retired in 1990.
Bud and Merna enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and spent 21 years wintering in Texas. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Bud is survived by his children, Keith (Janice) Graner of Red Wing, Judith (Bruce) Barton of Wabasha, and Kevin K. (Mari) Graner of Oronoco; eight grandchildren, Brian (Kelly) Graner, Anne (Kevin) Fox, Matthew (Tracy) Barton, Adam (Jamie) Barton, Melissa Graner Johnson (Matthew Johnson), Laura Graner (David Liebow), KC (Anna) Graner, and Timothy (Becca) Graner; and seventeen great-grandchildren, Haylee, Ashlee, Mia, and Aria Barton, Colin and Morgan Graner, Theodore Fox, Joseph and Elizabeth Liebow, Margaret and Michael Johnson, Eli, Kate, Finn, Wes, Charles, and Lily Graner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on November 24, 2011, and his two sisters, Maxine Schmit and Lorraine Curdue.
A private family graveside service will be held per Bud’s wishes at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview at a later date.
