Lois Marcelle Brunkow

Lois Marcelle Brunkow passed away on December 21, 2023, at Care Partners memory unit in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with her step-daughter, Barbara Naber, at her side.
Lois was born September 28, 1936, in Durand, WI to Odin and Cora (Anderson) Stever. She graduated from Eau Claire High School. She lived and was employed in the Eau Claire area.
On August 12, 1983, Lois married James Brunkow in Red Wing, MN. They enjoyed living in a country home near Nelson, Wisconsin for more than 30 years. In April of 2012 Lois and Jim entered assisted living where they remained together until her husband’s death.
Lois and Jim enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, flowers, backyard bird feeders, traveling, socializing with friends and family and snow birding with several friends in Texas for 10 years.
Lois is survived by Jim’s children: Barbara Naber; Bernard (Linda) Brunkow; and Brenda Gruber; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha. Interment will be at Nelson Cemetery, Nelson.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
