Lorene ‘Lori’ Feuling Marien, 82, Wabasha
A Mass celebrating the life of Lorene “Lori” Feuling Marien will be held at St. Felix Church, Wabasha, MN, Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11 AM, with the Reverend Father Joseph LaPlante officiating. Visitation will be held in the church beginning at 9AM.
Lorene Feuling was born November. 2, 1932 in Glencoe Township, Trempealeau County,Wisconsin. She was the eldest child of Leonard and Armilla (Doelle) Feuling. While in high school, her family moved to Kellogg, MN where she met and later married Duane “Dewey” Marien. During their nearly 55 years of marriage they lived in Wabasha, Miles City, MT, Ottumwa, IA and Hastings, MN. Upon their retirement in 1997, they moved back to Wabasha to enjoy family, friends and the beauty of the surrounding Mississippi River valley.
Lori was an accomplished seamstress, upholsterer, gardener, cook and baker. Her cookies were legendary and were shared generously with family and friends. She also had a life-long love of music, having taught music briefly at St. Felix School, and continued with piano lessons until a few weeks before her death.
Lori is survived by six children, Leann (Steve) Kindom, Hudson, WI, Kathy (Robert) Abbott, Baton Rouge, LA, Julie (Peter) Ketchum, St. Paul, MN, Niles (Mary Hanson) Marien, Woodville, WI, Blane Marien, Wabasha, MN, Elise (John) Steger, Shakopee, MN; eleven grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Humpal, James Abbott, Sam and Jack Ketchum, Erin Marien, Kayla Clark, Jacob, Belle and Jimmy Marien, and Kilian and Finley Steger; two great-granchildren, Ethan Humpal and Clark Lorch; brother and sister-in-law, Lenus “Lenny” and LaVonne Feuling, Kenyon,MN; sister, Romelle “Mim” Feuling Vincek, Wabasha; sister-in-law, Virginia “Ginger” Marien, Lake City, MN and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and infant brother Lon.
