Marian E. Wayne, 95, Kellogg

Marian E. Wayne, age 95, of Kellogg, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born September 16, 1922 in Mondovi, WI, the daughter of Samuel and Bertha (Peterson) Urness. She was a 1940 graduate of Mondovi High School. Marian was united in marriage to Donald Wayne November 19, 1940. Don worked as a sawmill operator and logger and Marian was a homemaker. Don died September 20, 2010.
Marian was a member of the Kellogg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, watching the birds and growing flowers. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, David Wayne, Kellogg, MN, Dennis and Susan Wayne, Kellogg, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dennis Engels, Lake Kiowa, TX; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah Berg, Green Bay, WI; brother-in-law, Jim (Mary) Wayne, Durand, WI; sisters-in-law, Hazel (Dick) Swanson, GA, Kathryn Wayne, Menomonie, WI, Aileen Wayne, Durand, WI; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, son, Daniel Wayne, and brother-in-law, Paul Berg.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00am at Kellogg United Methodist Church with the Reverend Cheryl Nymann officiating. Interment followed at Greenfield Cemetery in rural Kellogg. Family and friends called at the church on Saturday one hour before the service.
