Marjorie Lamey

 Marjorie A. Lamey, age 88, of rural Kellogg, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Wabasha. She was born March 26, 1926 in Beaver, Winona County, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Waby) Nickelsen. She married Eugene Lamey October 3, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Minneiska. The couple would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. They farmed together in Minneiska Township, rural Kellogg, their entire married lives.
 She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its St. Anne’s Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed growing flowers in her gardens at home, travelling with her husband and in her earlier years fishing and golfing. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her husband, Gene. They were constant companions of one another.
 Marjorie is survived her husband, Eugene Lamey, Kellogg, MN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Theuner, Kellogg, MN, Sharron and Allyn Wachholz, Chatfield, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Esther Nickelsen, Lake City, MN, James and Barb Nickelsen, Homer, NY, LaVern and Peggy Nickelsen, Straton, GA, Phyllis Nickelsen, Yuma, AZ; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her special nephew, Ralph Theuner, her parents, Ernest and Mary Nickelsen, sisters, Iola Stephans and Rosemary Nickelsen and brothers, Charles and Clarence Nickelsen.
 A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Minneiska with the Reverend Father William Kulas officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Casket bearers werer Mark, Tyler, Rick, and Jeff Theuner, Tony Lamey and Scott Lamey. Family and friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Friday from 4-7pm and they called at the church on Saturday one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to St. Elizabeth’s Community Foundation, 1200 5th Grant Blvd. W. Wabasha, MN 55981, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Minneiska, MN 55910 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of the arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
