Mary C. Wallerich
Mary C Wallerich, age 95, of rural Wabasha, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at her home. She was born November 1, 1927, to Theodore and Gertrude Evers on the family farm rural Conception. On April 22, 1950, she married Joseph M. Wallerich at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Conception, rural Kellogg. Together they were blessed with seven children: Margery, Jon, Joyce, Marla, Jean, Jerry, and Mark. Joe passed away March 31, 2018.
Mary had a strong faith and church was an important part of her life. She belonged to the St. Felix Women’s Group and Pepin Hill Women’s Club. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends; gardening; sewing; canning; tending her gardens and flowers. She was the classic homemaker and with a quiet moment, she could be found watching birds at her feeders and paying special attention to the hummingbirds.
Mary is survived by her children and spouses: Margery Wallerich, Winona, MN; Jon (Linda) Wallerich, Wabasha, MN; Joyce Ireland, Wabasha, MN; Marla (Todd) Hubbard, Lake City, MN; Jean (Joe) Feils, Kellogg, MN; Jerry (Cori) Wallerich, Wabasha, MN; Mark Wallerich (Tina Montgomery), Lake City, MN; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother Michael Evers, Minneapolis, MN; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and her beloved dog, Duke. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Lou Rutz, Lake City, MN; brother-in-law Norbert Wallerich, Wabasha, MN
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Gertrude Evers; husband Joseph; granddaughter, Christine Wallerich; sister Dorothy (Francis) Klees; brother Theodore (Beverly) Evers; sister-in-law Carol Evers; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Francis and Mary Pat Wallerich; Robert and Orlene Wallerich; Leon Rutz and Colleen Wallerich.
The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha with the Reverend Prince Raja officiating. Interment will be at St. Felix Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, November 4, at St. Felix Catholic Church with the rosary at 7:30 p.m. and one hour visitation before the Mass.
