Mary E. Kennedy, 88, Kellogg

 Mary E. Kennedy, age 88, of Kellogg, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home in Wabasha where she had resided the past four years. She was born January 25, 1929 in Wabasha, the only child to William and Ada (Buroff) LaRue. She was a graduate of Kellogg High School. She married Roy Kennedy June 28, 1947 at the Kellogg United Methodist Church. Together with her husband they farmed in the Kellogg area. Roy died April 19, 2012.
 Mary was a lifelong member of the Kellogg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and together with Roy they enjoyed travelling to the casino to play Keno. Mary was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan.
 She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, William and Mary Rose Kennedy, Wabasha, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Rongstad, Rochester, MN; three grandchildren, Larry (Lisa) Kennedy, Raechelle (Dale) Meyer and Susan Horsman; three great-grandchildren, Ben, Joseph and Nicholas Meyer; step-grandson, Matt Rongstad; step-granddaughter, Lexi Rongstad; three step-great-grandchildren, Lindsay (David) Paulson, and Craig and Cory Loechler; sisters-in-law, Olivia Kennedy, St. Paul, MN and Louise Kennedy, Wabasha, MN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy.
 A funeral service was held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1:30pm at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha with the Reverend Cheryl Nymann officiating. Interment followed at Greenfield Cemetery, rural Kellogg. Family and friends called at the funeral home from 11:30am until the time of service. The family prefers memorials to the Kellogg United Methodist Church. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
