Marylyn Virginia Fricke, 82, Lake City
Marylyn Virginia Fricke, 82 of Lake City, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born June 15, 1933 to Albert and Mary (Titterington) Prescher in Elgin, Minn. She grew up there and graduated from Elgin High School. On October 14, 1951 she married Maurice “Bud” Fricke in Elgin. The couple made their home in the Pine Island area until 1960 when they moved to Rochester. There they owned and operated a business on South Broadway. In 1989 they sold the business and retired. They moved to Lake City 1992 where she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. In their retirement they traveled all over the world. Marylyn was a gifted homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking and entertaining.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Bud; four children, Ronald (Helen) of Holmen, Wisc., Bonita (Mark) Taft of Scottsdale, Ariz., Thomas (Brenda) of Greensboro, North Carolina and Glenn (Susan) of LaCenter Minn.; brother, Wesley (Marian) Prescher of Elgin; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. Burial will be at Elgin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson, Lake City and one hour prior to the service at church.
