Nancy Cary

Nancy Ann Cary, 82 of Wabasha, MN, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at Caretta Senior Living Memory Care, Eau Claire, WI.
Nancy was born February 6, 1943, in Wabasha to Roselyn (Harms) and Arthur Benjamin. She graduated from Wabasha-Kellogg High School. On September 30, 1961, she was united in marriage to Francis Cary in Lake City, MN. Together they had four daughters: Dawn, Amy, Heidi, and Julie.
Nancy worked many years and retired from Unipatch in Wabasha, prior to that was employed in Altura at the turkey processing plant. Nancy was an avid follower of the sport of tennis, sewer and quilter, Nancy belonged to many quilt clubs through the years and enjoyed going on quilt shop hops to add to her stash of fabric. Nancy was a member of the Foster Homemakers, even after moving back to Minnesota her and Fran would make the drive back to Osseo so she could attend the monthly meetings. She enjoyed her many travels around the country with her sister Linda. One of Nancy’s greatest enjoyments was being able to watch her daughter’s, grand daughter and her great grandson show their horses. She enjoyed bragging about them and their horses to anyone who would listen.
She is survived by three daughters: Amy (Tim) Hayden, Heidi (Ken) Krenz, and Julie (Jeff) Stiernagle; two grandchildren: Zachary (Alyssa) Krenz and Kelsie (Zachary) Erickson; five great grandchildren: Serenity, Asa, Ezra, Jonah, and Asher; a sister Linda Benjamin, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Roselyn, husband Fran, daughter Dawn, sister Diane Schuth, and brothers Robert and Richard Benjamin.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11:00-1:00 pm with funeral service to immediately follow at Abbott Funeral Home, in Wabasha, MN. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wabasha,MN at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, family ask that memorials be given in Nancy’s name to the Eau Claire Bit and Spur Saddle Club, (mailing address) N8089 County Rd. P, Spring Valley WI 54767, or Buffalo County Humane Association, 950 Eau Claire Street North, Mondovi, WI.
The family would like to thank Caretta Senior Living Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care given to Nancy in the short time she was a resident there.
